Tech Troubleshooting !!!!!!!
(This is tremendously helpful)
Are you, or your students, encountering an error message
when you try to launch Google Chrome? If so, a fix is
available! In the bottom left corner of the laptop screen,
click on the magnifying glass icon to search your computer.
Type in Software Center, and select the Software Center
desktop app. This space holds any updates that are
available for your device. Click to select the Google
Chrome Side-by-Side patch, then click Install Selected
The install will begin, and will show you the download status.
This should correct the Google Chrome issue, and you
can get back to happy computing! Let Anne James know
if you have any questions about this quick fix. :)
Thanks!
Anne

from everyone.

The spelling bee is rescheduled for Tuesday, January 23 at
10:30. All bee participants have received notice of this. Third
through fifth grade teachers should send their classroom
winners to the library at 10:15. Streaming will start at 10:30 for
the entire school community.  Feel free to tune in!

Golden Apple
If you know a talented teacher who not only demonstrates
excellence in teaching, but also engages with the community
outside of school, consider nominating him or her for a Golden
Apple Award. But don’t delay! Nominations must be submitted
by February 1.
Who is eligible?
Any teacher, preschool through grade 12, who has not received
a Golden Apple Award in the past three years is eligible.
What do award winners receive?
One teacher from each school will receive a Golden Apple
keepsake, as well as gift certificates from local businesses.
And, eight lucky winners will receive $1,000 grants for
classroom materials or professional development!
When is the submission deadline?
The deadline is just around the corner! Nominations must be submitted
with the principal’s signature by Thursday, February 1, 2018.
How do I get started?
  1. Fill out the application.
  2. Submit or forward the application to your teacher’s school principal
before February 1. (Principals will complete the submission process.)

Celebrating our Special Specials Teachers
Thanks to our Specials Teachers for their outstanding
presentations to our PTO this past Tuesday. They provided a
quality adult learning experience for the families that attended.
Our families left with even more confirmation and appreciation
that their students attend our school. Teacher presenters were:
David Crouch, Analisa Herring, Tetyana Wittkowski,
Shannon Horridge, Jamie Beeler, Blair Jones, and  Anne James.

MI3 Vertical Team Faculty Meeting January 18th
The MI3 Vertical Team was able to work out a productive plan for
this Thursday’s Faculty Meeting. Teams will bee able to identify
and begin working on their instructional needs for the second
semester. The team also worked out a plan to participate in some
peer observations in February that will support our work. They can’t
wait to tell you more about it on Thursday.

Performance Task Administration and Recording
Scores
Reminder: Teams need to start looking at dates for administering,
scoring and recording performance tasks. Once those dates are
confirmed, please let Jason know.

The Buzzness January 5, 2018

The Buzzness

To all BES Staff,
You are the only inspiration I need.
This week, your commitment to Brownsville Elementary
shined through. I witnessed clear communication, new
ideas and planning for continued success of our favorite
Pre K - 5 Kids. It is clear, that while we were enjoying the break,
the work was somewhere in the front of your minds. You
all make this the BESt place to bee and I thank you.
