HOLDING ATTENDANCE and MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

As we are sure you all have concluded, morning arrival times have been a

bit inconsistent.

Hold attendance if there is announcement to do so. This prevents mistakes

and the need to double or triple check final attendance. We are happy to

hear suggestions If this seems inefficient.

Morning announcements should smooth out in the next week. The camera

and fix that is required will bee set up soon. Thank you for your patience.

LICENSURE RENEWAL INFO
All licensed personnel who are up for renewal this year have been

emailed with instructions. If they have not received an email, please

have them send me an email right away.

Beth Churms has retired from ACPS and I have moved from the Acting

Licensure Specialist position into the Licensure Specialist position.

If anyone is still trying to contact Beth regarding licensure, please direct

them to me.

I am attaching links to mandatory training that must be completed for your

license renewal.

These trainings must be completed once every renewal cycle.

·         Sign Up for CPR Training

If you are in need of the CPR and First Aid requirement, please sign up for

this training as soon as you can.

Licensure Updates:

First, I would like to address some licensure changes. As of January 1, 2019,

the fee for license renewal has gone up from $25.00 to $50.00.

Albemarle County will pay your renewal fee as long as you submit

your licensure application before June 14,2019.

Second, As of July 1, 2018 all renewable licenses issued will be issued for ten

years. So, when you receive your new license it will be valid for ten years.

The Technology Standards have been eliminated and that is reflected on your progress report.

BLACK HISTORY MONTH  

Happy Black History Month. Please let the admin team know if

you have planned activities to recognize this month.

NATIONAL COUNSELING WEEK

Bee sure to give a shout-out to our school counselors next week, David and

Alyson for their dedication and care for our little Bees.   

JUMP ROPE FOR HEART  

I've been in Contact with Natalie Palmer who works with the PTO.  

She has agreed to provide a Healthy Snack Party for the class who

has the most students participate. (sign up and register online)  If

there is a tie, the tie breaker will be which class raised the most.

Also, next week I will put paper hearts in your box.  These hearts are

for your students to decorate and color.  There will also be a place on

the heart for students to include the names of who they'd like to jump for.  

For example, it might be a grandparent or relative that passed away from

heart disease. If they can't think of anyone, they can leave it blank.

When the students are done, the hearts can be cut out and we will decorate

the gym for Jump Rope for Heart on Feb 14th.

If you remove a cumulative folder for longer than a few minutes, please

sign it out using a placeholder to notify the person who is looking for it.

SECOND ROUND OF SPED/RTI/GRADELEVEL MEETINGS

We are entering into 2nd round of our SpEd/RTI/Gradelevel meetings next week

the admin team will have provided records of 3 -5 learnwalks to contribute to the

discussion. Teachers should bring evidence that demonstrates the progress of

students they are studying.

2 FIRE DRILLS IN FEBRUARY

January flew by causing the need for 2 fire drills in February. Bee on the look-out

for the second date.
